Hearts of Men –or- If I Ever loose My Faith in You

Fernando, 31 Hispanic American

A number of years ago I had a dream that my girlfriend (now she is my wife) had a child. At first I was afraid of taking the child in my arms. Suddenly I had a feeling that it was the right thing to do, so I did it. Today my wife and I have a daughter who is two.

Mr Hagen's Reply; Hearts of Men -or- If I Ever loose My Faith in You

From the associations that you sent about your dreams, it is clear that you feel like the dream was a message of faith from God to marry your wife and have a family. We can find such a dream at the beginning of the New Testament. Matthew 1;19,20; tells us "Then Joseph her husband, being a just man and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily. But while he thought on these things, behold the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary they wife: for that which is conceived in her is the Holy Ghost."

You initially experience fear in your dream, men's fears about commitment in relationships and marriage has been discussed by Barbara Ehrenreich Hearts of Men: American Dreams and the Flight from Commitment. From a popular culture perspective the song by Sting If I ever loose my faith in you seems to fit the sentiment of your dream.
